Magnesium Hull Anode with a Solitary Strap
Trapezoidal Magnesium Hull Anode: Ideal for freshwater steel hull boats, fights corrosion from stray current/pollution, with cast-in galvanized steel straps for easy installation.
Description
The magnesium hull anode is extensively employed to combat corrosion issues on steel hull service vessels operating in freshwater environments like rivers, canals, and cruising areas. Its effectiveness in addressing corrosion problems stemming from stray currents or pollution in freshwater makes it the optimal solution. Equipped with cast-in galvanized steel straps, this type of magnesium hull anode can be securely attached to submerged structures through either bolting or welding methods.
Quality Substrate Material
Crafted using premium magnesium alloy, our magnesium hull anode adheres to the specifications outlined in the American standard ASTM B843 – AZ63C.
Element | Content |
---|---|
Aluminum (Al) | 5.3% – 6.7% |
Manganese (Mn) | 0.15% – 0.7% |
Zinc (Zn) | 2.5% – 3.5% |
Silicon (Si) | 0.1% max. |
Copper (Cu) | 0.02% max. |
Iron (Fe) | 0.03% max. |
Nickel (Ni) | 0.02% max. |
Other Impurity (each) | 0.05% max. |
Total Impurities | 0.03% max. |
Magnesium (Mg) | Remainder |
Custom-made Electro-potential Options
Typically, our magnesium hull anode is manufactured through pressure die casting using H-1 alloy, ensuring a standard potential of -1.55 volts compared to the saturated calomel electrode (SCE). Upon request, we also offer high potential magnesium anodes.
Technical Measurement | Performance |
---|---|
Open Circuit Potential (-V) | 1.5 ~ 1.55 |
Close Circuit Potential (-V) | 1.45 ~ 1.5 |
Min. Current Capacity | 550 A.h/lbs (1230 A.h/kg) |
Current Efficiency | 55% min. |
Optional Plastisol Coating
The magnesium hull anode is offered in two options: bare or plastisol-coated. The plastisol coating, made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), acts as an effective barrier against electrical currents on the sides, ends, and contact surfaces. It is designed to be removed from the anode as required to adjust surface area contact and current output.
Strict Quality Control
Our magnesium hull anode undergoes rigorous manufacturing, inspection, and testing processes in alignment with ISO 9001:2015 standards to guarantee top-notch quality.
Customized Configurations
Weights and dimensions of the magnesium anodes may vary due to normal fluctuations in material densities. The images above showcase a variety of standard magnesium anodes, and customized configurations can be provided upon request.
