Single-Strap Rectangular Magnesium Hull Anode

Galvanized Single-Strap Magnesium Hull Anode: Ideal for freshwater steel hull boats, combating stray current and pollution.

Category:

Description

Magnesium hull anodes are extensively employed to combat corrosion in steel hull service vessels navigating freshwater bodies like rivers, canals, and cruising routes. Specifically designed to combat corrosion due to stray current or pollution, these anodes feature cast-in galvanized steel straps and offer flexible installation options, either through bolting or welding directly onto submerged structures.

Quality Substrate Material
Crafted with top-tier magnesium alloy, our magnesium hull anode adheres to the rigorous American standard ASTM B843 – AZ63C.

Element Content
Aluminum (Al) 5.3% – 6.7%
Manganese (Mn) 0.15% – 0.7%
Zinc (Zn) 2.5% – 3.5%
Silicon (Si) 0.1% max.
Copper (Cu) 0.02% max.
Iron (Fe) 0.03% max.
Nickel (Ni) 0.02% max.

Custom-made Electro-potential Options
Our magnesium hull anode is typically pressure die-cast using H-1 alloy, offering a standard potential of -1.55 volts concerning the saturated calomel electrode (SCE). Customers can request a high-potential magnesium anode if needed.

Technical Measurement Performance
Open Circuit Potential (-V) 1.5 ~ 1.55
Close Circuit Potential (-V) 1.45 ~ 1.5
Min. Current Capacity 550 A.h/lbs (1230 A.h/kg)
Current Efficiency 55% min.

Optional Plastisol Coating
Our magnesium hull anode is offered in bare form or with a plastisol coating. The polyvinyl chloride (PVC) coating acts as a robust barrier against current, strategically placed on the anode’s sides, ends, and faying surfaces. This design allows for precise adjustments to surface area contact and current output by trimming the coating as required.

Strict Quality Control
Adhering to ISO 9001:2015 guidelines, our magnesium hull anode undergoes manufacturing, inspection, and testing processes following rigorous protocols, ensuring superior quality standards.

Customized Configurations
Please note that weights and dimensions may vary due to typical variations in material densities. The above displays a selection of standard magnesium anodes, while customized configurations can be provided upon request.
