Versatile Magnesium Water Heater Anode Rod

Flexible magnesium anode rod prevents water heater corrosion, extends lifespan.

Description

One of the primary factors that often limits the lifespan of water heaters is interior corrosion, which occurs due to the harsh minerals present in the water. These minerals can accumulate and corrode the steel surfaces within the tank, especially in high-temperature conditions.

Anode rods play a crucial role in combating corrosion and extending the longevity of water heaters. By releasing electrons into the water, anode rods help create an environment that redirects corrosive actions away from the tank walls and towards the rod itself. This process significantly reduces the risk of leaks and damage to the inner tank and heating pipes.

This flexible magnesium anode rod, featuring four sections and attached with either carbon steel wire or 301 stainless steel braided wire, is specifically designed for use in tight spaces where rigid straight rods cannot fit. It is ideal for situations with limited access, such as low-ceiling areas, closets, attics, spaces under stairwells, or basements. This linked-style magnesium anode rod is typically used when replacing existing rods.

Magnesium, being an essential element found in all living organisms, is environmentally friendly. Compared to other materials, using a magnesium anode rod offers a healthier alternative. As it dissolves into the water, magnesium leaves behind sediment at the bottom of the tank, contributing to the overall maintenance and longevity of the water heater system.

Quality Substrate Material
Our top-quality flexible magnesium anode rod is manufactured in accordance with the American standard ASTM B843-AZ31B, ensuring its high grade and reliability.

Element ASTM B843 – AZ31B
Aluminum (Al) 2.5 ~ 3.5%
Zinc (Zn) 0.6 ~ 1.4%
Manganese (Mn) 0.2 ~ 1.0%
Silicon (Si) 0.1% Max

Segmented Design
When compared to a cast magnesium rod, this extruded magnesium rod offers superior machining precision. It measures 45 inches in length and is segmented into four sections, making it easier to install in confined spaces. Additionally, it can be safely trimmed to match the specific dimensions of the water heater, ensuring a customized fit as needed.

Uniform Current Distribution
Every magnesium anode rod contains a steel core that runs along its length, ensuring consistent and effective distribution of electrical current. This design promotes stable and reliable performance throughout its usage.

Easy Replacement
It is recommended to inspect and replace the anode rod whenever the water heater tank is emptied. Typically, replacement is necessary when corrosion has eroded roughly 75% of the rod’s material. Our anode rod is designed to offer approximately two years of corrosion protection before needing replacement.

Strict Quality Control
Adhering to ISO 9001:2015 standards, our flexible magnesium anode rods undergo meticulous manufacturing, inspection, and testing processes as per our rigorous quality control protocols. This ensures that they consistently deliver optimal performance levels.

Customized Configurations
Our flexible magnesium anode rod is designed to fit seamlessly with Rheem, BWC, AO, STATE, and other standard ¾” NPT thread-equipped solar or electric water heaters. Upon request, we offer customization options such as tailored segments, lengths, and threads to accommodate specific needs.
